The Psychological and Stress Management P.C. was founded by Dr. Jaime H. Cárcamo, Psy.D. Dr. Jaime H. Cárcamo is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist who has extensive years of experience working with immigrant populations, the anxiety disorders, traumatic stress-related disorders such as Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depressive disorders and psychological evaluations, general and for immigration purposes.
Dr. Jaime H. Cárcamo is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist. He attained his doctorate degree from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology of Yeshiva University and postdoctorate education from the Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. He is also Adjunct Instructor at the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York. He specializes in immigrant populations, the anxiety, depressive and traumatic stress disorders, including Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Dr. Cárcamo is in private practice and is president and founder of the Psychological & Stress Management, PC, and the Hispanic Family Mental Health Center, a psychological/education and professional mental health center.
Dr. Cárcamo has consulted with city and private agencies on coping strategies and evidence based treatment recommendations after the World Trade Center (WTC) terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Dr. Cárcamo has made media appearances to provide public education on national and international television and radio. He also lectured and conducted workshops throughout New York City on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) of Acute Stress Disorder (ASD) and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Dr. Cárcamo was Research Scientist at the New York State Psychiatric Institute (NYSPI) where he conducted research on PTSD and OCD treatments. He was also visiting professor at Carabobo University in Valencia, Venezuela where he trained mental health professionals in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) for PTSD.
